What do you store there?

So I've not found a good use for this area and it's fairly deep so wanted to see what you guys use this area for? I believe all 260/280/330's have this open space there correct?

Just to get perspective, is that the STBD side of the Captains seat ?

I keep one of the square throwable PFDs there. I also end up shedding my shirt on warm days and stuff it dwn there.

Throwable and charts

I keep a airhorn can and a 14" hunting knife there. i drive with the left hand and the rightt hand is on the controls. switchiing hands to beep in an emergency never made sense to me. like flying, the hands are always close to the throttles. the knife is there for cuting lines or whatever else comes up. its easy to throw it to someone fromm the helm than go searching for one. in my ss its enclosed except the top so its like a storage area.
