Hey guys!!! As always I turn to my fellow "expert Formula owners" to give me the best advice!!!
I have a very old depth finder that came with my boat. It is around 20 years old and is about the size of a small
shoebox. It is really a good sturdy unit for its age. It is a basic depth finder, with selectable depth warnings and
water temp ect. I would like to keep it on the boat as a emergency backup but would like to buy a modern
GPS-Fish FInder-depth finder with side scan. We have some very deep lakes here in Montana with Tally Lake at
1,000 feet or so. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi with over 118 miles of
shoreline and about 355 ft. I would also like some advise on a good marine radio. The one I have is about
30+ years old and has given up the ghost. I have looked at several models at my local boat shops but my wife
suggested that "hey why don't you ask the other Formula boat owners, on that, that.....you know that boat
forum that you check every weekend! I knew what she meant but I let her go until she ran out of steam! ;D
I am not really worried too much about price, around $700 to $1000. I am willing to pay to have piece of mind
with my loved ones on the boat. I am going to have my local boat dealer install it to make sure it is done right.
As always you guys are great with all of the great advice you provide!! ;)

I am looking for a mounted model, not a in dash unit. I have a hardtop and want to mount it in the same place as the old one. Looks like most of the models are under $200. Nothing special since I will only be going freshwater lakes her in Montana and maybe Idaho. The depth finder will also mount either on the dash or on the hardtop. ;D

You can get a good deal on both units at Bass Pro, or West Marine. I have a Eagle, which is made by Lawrance that I think I paid about six to seven hundred for about 3 years ago. I noticed that Lawrance has a new unit out that is in that price range that gives you the 3d topagraphy veiws of the bottom on the gps , with all the fish finder stuff built in too. I love mine. I always know where I am, day or night , that is a lot of peace of mind. I have a Standard Horizan radio that is just as basic 100 dollar unit. I have a really high quality shakesphere 8ft antenna and stainless mount that I have about another 175 in. West marine has 20% off of there antenna now. You can shop both online. They not that hard to install if you have a little time.
