We are finally going to put some nautical miles on our girl! So far this season we are looking at:


  • Montauk Ny
  • Greenport Ny
  • Strongs in Mattituck Ny
  • Northport Ny
  • Port Jeff
  • Essex Ct
  • Block Island Ri


Where are you guys headed? Share those little gems.
 
I'd have to hit it at high tide and look around, with 4 ft of pod drives hanging down I'd have to be careful for sure. We did Essex Island Marina last year and it was a great time just the two of us.
 
You do not need high tide.......you do not need to be careful. There is a very well marked channel with plenty of depth. It's a beautiful spot.
 
I run out of Point Judith to Block almost every chance I get. Def my happy place. Newport every once in a while. Montauk or Vineyard 1-2x. What else is a great stop on LI?
 
Mitchell's in Greenport is a fave of ours it right in the center of town great docks and very protected Claudio's is right next door, we are doing Strong's marina in Mattituck we have heard great things about them also.
 
Strongs is a great marina. People are awesome and there is a great bar/restaurant there. Try to book when they have the summer concert series....outdoor concerts on their lawn...always a fun time.
 
Ok so I'm firming up our float plan. But I'm trying to push the admiral to Martha's Vineyard but she is a little uneasy about going that far alone. I told her we can do 1.5 - 2 hrs at a time and I got a smirk. But I will keep pushing though.

Where and when are you guys headed out to?

Well this coming weekend is the Float Plan Layout Weekend!! We are booked for Essex Island July 29th / August 30th so far. Then back home for a road trip to the Buffett concert at Jones Beach two days later.

I know were looking at Block, Mattituck, Newport, Port Jeff, Northport, Still trying to extend the Admiral to Martha's Vineyard.

Where are you guys headed?
 
No bookings yet but all the usual spots are on the list. Sag Harbor, Montauk, Block, Greenport, etc. Maybe a few new ones as well...
If we are local that weekend maybe we will swing up to Essex and have a cocktail. We are right down river in Old Saybrook.
 
That would be awesome! We haven't explored Sag Harbor yet, but we do love Mitchell's and Greenport. Maybe we should poke around there,

John, my wife and I are going to plan a trip down to the vinyard this summer...we should connect!
 
That sounds like a good time, lets keep in touch on it for sure. August is usually our busiest boating month so we are thinking on doing the longer trip before that.

Oak Bluffs has a great Fireworks show coming up on August 21 but it sells out very quickly. They start taking reservations this Saturday 02/01/20 at 9:00 AM Sharp. The Fireworks sells out in minutes.

JB any tips on where to stay in Sag?
