Winterization of 08 Formula 37PC Water System

Need a little professional advice winterizing of the freshwater system on this boat.

I winterized my 31PC for a decade without a problem, but this is the first time I will be taking on this one and I am a bit confused.

Unlike many boats, this 37PC does not have a freshwater fill on the deck. All the water must come in through the city water hookup on the swim platform.
Under the sink is a 3-way switch. One way puts the boat on city water directly from the city water hookup, the second way is used to fill the water tank from the same city water hookup, the third way turns on the pump and pulls water from the freshwater tank.

My question is how do I get antifreeze into the city water hookup, through the bypass to the tank, and then back through the freshwater system without wasting and contaminating the freshwater tank with allot of pink stuff.

Oh, one more thing. .. The water pump is located behind the refrigerator a long ways from the freshwater tank.

I imagine you could use a small pump and pump it forward into the freshwater tank, but how much would you have to put in to prime the freshwater pump and get it through the system.

Neat setup to use on the 37PC, winterizing is a little confusing.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Well, you could not use antifreeze...

Meaning, what I do is take a small air compressor, and there is a fitting that goes onto the city water fitting. Then with low air pressure (say 25 PSI) I open all the faucets, one at a time, then all of them until NO WATER comes out.

Then, what I do is use that same fitting, and put a gallon or so of antifreeze and suck it in the same fitting. I don't worry about filling the tank, and of course I've already by-passed the hot water tank.

Hope this helps!

I am sure others will chime in, but this is my method. Although I don't have your system, but don't see why it would not work.

I agree with the air thing thats how my Dad and I do our boats and the RV. RV's have the city water hook up thing put the setting on city bypass the pump and blow away. Little late now but just my 2cents

Good news is that it is almost spring...and if you used air you are ready to go, no flushing, rinsing, flushing again, etc.

I USE AIR ALSO, TO REMOVE ANY WATER IN THE SYSTEM. I BY-PASS THE HOT WATER TANK, AND MAKE SURE ITS DRAINED.
I PUMP PINK STUFF INTO THE CITY WATERFILL WITH A SMALL PUMP IN A BUCKET. THE SYSTEM FILLS, THAN I BLEED ALL FAUCETS, HOT AND COLD, TO MAKE SURE PINK IS EVERYWHERE.
I THAN SWITCH TO TANK FILL, WHICH WINTERIZES THE SHORT LINE TO THE TANK, AND PUT ABOUT A GALLON OR SO IN THE TANK.
I THAN SWITCH TO WATER PUMP, AND SUCK ALL PINK OUT OF THE TANK, AND OUT THE FAUCETS. ITS EASY TO FORGET THE LINES TO AND FROM THE TANK, AS WELL AS THE WATER PUMP. DON'T FORGET YOUR ANCHOR WASHDOWN AND THE TRANSOM SHOWER.
I AM NOT SURE THAT JUST AIR WOULD GET TO THESE LOCATIONS, WITHOUT CHANGING THE SWITCH POSITIONS. PINK IS JUST INSURANCE.
AFTER THE PINK IS DONE, I USE AIR TO BLOW OUT EVERY FAUCET INTO A SMALL BUCKET, SO IT DOES NOT SIT IN THERE.
IN THE SPRING, I USE CITY WATER TO FILL THE WATER TANK, THAN RUN PUMP TO FLUSH THE SYSTEM.
AFTER ITS FLUSHED, I USE 3 CAPFULS OF CLOROX BLEACH TO SANITIZE THE SYSTEM, WITH A 1/2 TANK OF WATER. I FLUSH AGAIN, AND ADD A DILUTED BOX OF BAKING SODA TO ELIMINATE ANY CHLORINE RESIDUE. SYSTEM STAYS FRESH AND CLEAN.
JUST A REMINDER, THE CABIN BILGE PUMP HAS A CHECK VALVE, AND HOLDS WATER IN THE DISCHARGE LINE. YOU MUST WINTERIZE THIS ALSO.

Yeah, I also forgot the anchor washdown...
But I am in heated storage (well sort of heated), so hopefully she stayed warm enough this year.
