I love reading old threads. 450ss would have been nice. Well 10 years later we have a 500ss that’s almost 3 million dollars that most people can’t afford. Seems like even those of us who make a very nice living are getting priced out more and more each year when it comes to boat purchases

Getting back to the original question, I would highly recommend the IPS IF you have someone nearby that can repair them. If not, stay far away. A good friend has one here in Pittsburgh and cannot get anyone to come look at his issues. His joystick quit working I assume from not having 12 volt power over the winter and the closest VP dealer that knows IPS is 200 miles away. We have recalibrated the joystick several times without success, disconnected power, and nothing seems to work.
