Yacht Charters

Hey fellow Formula owners, Happy New Year to all!! Got to break out my 40PC this past friday for a quick cruise in beautiful 60degree weather, unfortunately we had to deal with 30MPH winds. Good news is that during this rare cruise I popped the question to my wonderful girlfriend while standing on the bow.(also while the boat nearly being grounded because of the high winds)
Now we are deciding on the destination for our wedding, I would like to find a yacht charter service to charter or rent a large cruiser or yacht to jump the keys in.
Does anyone have any info or leads about this?
Thanks,
james

Congratulations on the engagement. Nothing better than having a partner in crime that loves boating too! No experience on the charter thing for me, good luck.

Congratulations! I proposed to my long time GF watching the Naples, FL fireworks from our 400SS on NYE. It was actually pretty fun.

I like the yacht charter idea. We're thinking of some sort of boat themed wedding. Maybe taking the Formula down to Little Palm Island or somewhere similar. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Best of luck James!

Hi James,
Looks like you are looking at 8 to 12K per week according to this search.
http://www.charterworld.com you can do a quick search for location, size, boat type...

I had a buddy rent a catamaran from them in the chesapeake a few years ago...top notch experience.

hi, and congrat's. We did the BVI's on a 46' power cat about 4 or 5 years ago. Just me and my bride, it was ausome! We rented thru the Moorings. You can cruise the Bvi's get a different mooring can in a different bay every night! The boats are all decked out with all the electronics. The best thing for us was that we felt secure at night with a can and not having to worry with the anchor. You can cruise all day and not leave the sight of land. If you have a timeshare you might be able to use your point's. The power cat had 4 statrooms, 4 heads, dingy, ac , gas grill, etc. We brought a cooler of frozen food with us, and cooked on the boat. You can dingy ashore and hit local bars. It was one of the Best trips ever. Let me know if you need any other info. Have Fun...

Thanks for all the good info. We are weighing all of our options now. I wish it was cheaper to just have my 40PC shipped to Florida and cruise on it for a few weeks. There is nothing like have your home away from home.
I will keep everyone updated.
Thanks,
James
