The event is now posted on Formula's Facebook page now, along with an area for questions and comments:
There will be an informal, owner-organized two-day Formula Owners Raft-Up/Rendezvous over the weekend of September 18/19, 2010 in Still Pond Creek. This is intended to be a casual get-together with all activities planned by consensus of those attending. The Formula factory will donate some Formula Gear giveaways and door prizes. To ensure that they send enough items, they will need to know how many attendees we expect no later than Monday, September 6.
The idea is to raft up around the perimeter of the huge 2- to 4-foot deep sand flats and use it as a floating/wading/gathering area. Still Pond Creek offers one of the best and cleanest hard-packed sand bottoms on the Bay with excellent holding power. For those with SunSports or tenders, there is tons of room for skiing and tubing a little further into the creek from the raftup. We plan to be there early Saturday morning (maybe even Friday night), and will try to preserve an area for our group. It's a public spot, so there's only so much that we can do in that respect.
It is only shallow in the center area of Still Pond Creek where the sandbar/flat is marked on the drawing below. The entry is between 6 and 8 feet deep at low tide, well-marked with new daymarkers and "6 mph / No Wake" markers. We will be happy to provide specific and detailed navigation instructions for anyone who is nervous. Low tide will be at about 1:00 PM on the 18th and noon on the 19th. Tidal change for those days is predicted to be about one foot.
You may attend for the entire duration, both days, one day, or even just a brief visit. An overnight stay in Still Pond Creek is optional, depending on your own boat?s capabilities and your interest. If there is enough interest, we could consider making arrangements at a nearby marina like Skipjack Cove or Mears Great Oak to organize some shore-based activities as well.
