I splashed

Put the boat in the water on Saturday to take advantage of this wonderful weather and to stop paying winter storage. What a day. Drove from Marina where boat is stored to Annapolis to have lunch and a few pops at Pussers, then drove her back to the Marina where I own a slip. Drove about 50 miles total. Man did the boat run well. Reminded me why I love boating. Hope everyone else gets in the water soon.

We just got back from splash down. Four great days on the water. We can't wait to get back to her now.

I'm a hater....NOT joking.....I'm waxing everybody's boat but my own! The only thing keeping me sane is the amount of debris floating by ::) Every once in a while we will see a tree go down the river with birds sitting on the branches! I'm hoping to splash around the 22nd, I'll wax the topsides at the dock.

I'm with you PTG. I missed this early summer because it's my silly season at work. I was driving down the west side the other day and I could not believe the amount of stuff floating down the Hudson after all the rain..

I'm going for week of the 19th. Just installed new dripless shaft seals, all new diesel filtration system and custom made stainless exhaust. Next up, buff, wax, paint and splash!

Got 2 40' sailboats yesterday to do, a 35' Cruisers for around the 23rd....looks like I'll be going in without the topsides being done. Maybe I should pay someone to wax my boat - hhhhhhmmmmmm. Does the shoemaker take his own shoes to somebody for heels & soles?

The way I see it, if your too busy to do your own boat, then that is a GOOD thing! I pay someone like you each year to detail my boat. Worth every penny IMHO.

I hope to splash the week of the 19th also. New bottom paint, E80 with Sirius Weather, and having the detailing completed!!! Can't wait ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've been in all winter. I'll probably haul this fall for a week or so to paint and the like. We made our first trip to DC last week to see the cherry blossoms, and I think we'll be out nearly every weekend that we are home. It's nice being near the water. After working all day today though, I have decided not to try to clean the boat in one day anymore. It's too much work. Even working on the boat can get boring after a while. From now on I'm just going to do a chore a day where cleaning is concerned.

I thought I was going to compound and wax my entire boat today. Nope. Got it half done before I ran out of steam.

Know how you feel. Took my time, cleaner wax, 1 day half boat, next day other half. Wax, 1 day half then next day the other. arms are killing me. looks good though

Well, looks like I am splashing in the next week or two.

Got bottom paint all touched up, new zincs and impeller changed this weekend.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate in Ohio for us...

Compounded and waxed the starboard side in one day. It looks great. Port side not so good.

It figures...

Splash is at 0800 and the radar is filled with a nasty storm

The season is not off to a good start...but I have faith. Did a nice polish yesterday with the Aurora Boat Shine, and my blue hull is so shiny you can use it to shave as a mirror.

Oh well...off to try and splash!
