IS the 2000 41PC NMEA 2000?

Me Too, have been in communication with Yacht Devices daily with questions and they too are very responsive. Only time will tell.
I used incorrect terminology, just meant the older protocol is easier to read and decipher, sorry.
Will be really curious how you make out.

Just an Update - BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand. All I wanted was a reader for my engines without relying on Calling in someone. Well as stated before I found what I need from Actisense which Sells through Gemeco Marine Accessories and now I also need a network Starter kit and where do I stop. I have been in contact with both Gemeco (Peter Braffitt) and Actisense (Aleksandr Gorlach) and they have answered me within hours. Will be speaking with Peter at the Fort Lauderdale Show, so maybe I will be able to work something out.

Another update - I missed Peter at the Show and now back in contact with Yacht Devices with more questions, will keep up with UPDATES.

Just an update - Ordered the engine gateway and the text display for both engines, comes from Russia and the package is being tracked by Russian Post office Ordered on the 10th and arrived in JFK on the 18th, waiting for delivery by USPS now after it clears customs, will keep you all posted.

UPDATE - received the j1708 Gateway and Text Display today 11/25, just made a work order with Precision Marine hoping they can install this week, doubt it with all the late winterizations they probably have scheduled. Wish me luck. The Text Displays are smaller than I thought, even though I had the measurements.

Sent it to your e mail - still don’t know how to get it from pictures to here, also update on headliner removal, I looked at mine and did not see any screws in upper cabinets, they probably changed over the years, good luck with that.
Any pics available with wiring diagrams?

Just an update - Precision Marine is coming tomorrow to install NMEA 200 trunk and Yacht Design equipment I purchased along with a new Raymarine TRI Data.

I have the same engines. I would love to do this also. Please let me know how it goes!! I would like to send the data directly to a Garmin unit.

NMEA 2000 trunk plus Raymarine TriData took 6 hours and still needs fine tuning, will keep you posted

Don't know yet, the power supply that the installer supplied is faulty and he left for training to New Hampshire for the week and will come back next week. According to the Yacht Devices user manual, Yes I should have Volvo Data on both displays, except they are small and will have to turn pages (push an up or down button to get to them and I can delete those that either do not show anything or that don't interest me, but I can get them back if I want). Supposedly I am the BETA for Yacht Designs with both Gemeco and Precision Marine, not sure if that is good or bad. The hardest part was running the NEMA 2000 trunk from the engine room to the dash.
Do you have Volvo data on the separate displays?

I had a difficult time running the trunk line as well, ended up taking out the helm seat to gain enough access to run things the way I wanted. I added the Raymarine autopilot and used the blank breaker panel spot for it which meant I needed to run power wires heavy enough for the pump motor. Wasn't fun but the way to do it.
Nothing like being first, usually makes your install better than anyone's due to care of the first setup.

Well Time for an UPDATE - Just to bring everyone up to speed. I purchased from Yacht Designs back in December 2017 Two J1708 Engine Gateways YDES04 and Two Text Displays YDTD-20. I believe the price was about $700.00. I had Precision Marine in New Rochelle, NY install a NEMA 2000 Back bone and connect to the Yacht Devices products, also installed was a Ray Marine Tri Data - it took 2 Mechanics 6 hours to install, $1600. Unfortunately they left without it working and we agreed they would come back when the 41pc was Commissioned in 2108. Well she was Commissioned April 16 and after many trials and tribulations I finally can read my engine hours, engine temperature, Boost Pressure, RPMs, Battery Voltage, Alternator Voltage on the Text Displays. Needless to say when I update my Chartplotter / GPS the Text Displays will not be necessary and I should have only bought one Text display since it shows both engines on the one. Yacht Devices has unbelievable Customer support, unfortunately they are in Russia so we only communicated by e-mail but it was sometimes on a daily basis and a few times a day and he does have the capability to SKYPE. They have a US distributor in Chicago and they were also working with Peter Braffitt of Gemco in North Carolina and Peter was instrumental in getting me to purchase the Yacht Devices. I did include the Chicago US dealer in my many e-mails to Yacht Devices but they never responded. Well any questions just send then to me. Ironically allI wanted to do was find out my engine hours and since Volvo is proprietary with there diagnostic equipment and Precision does not go back to 2000 so I was stuck trying to find an alternative - I could not just get a Code reader like all my gas engine friends can - but finally i have what I set out to get and BOAT - Break Out Another Thousand is surely true in this case - LOL, but Due to the weather have only been out 13 times since April but did enjoy every ride. What can i say, just spending my kids inheritance.

Wow Botjem! That's awesome. I would love to do that. My hour meters have gone dark and can't read them any more. I'm just wondering how much time went into programming the system. I'm sure it wasn't just plug and play!! i was planning to do this project before you started but never got around to it. Glad it worked out. I'm sure it came out beautiful!! Pics of the install would be great.

Are you good with Computer??? For my Friend it was a walk in the park but for me they might have been speaking Russian. You definitely need the J1708's and maybe one Text display and of course the NEMA 2000 Backbone. As far as programing the system the actual times under two hours but the wait for the updates was usual a day or two. We started programing Saturday and finish yesterday. PM me with your e-mail or phone number and I can help you out better. I can send pics thru e-mail but can't get them on this site.
