Refrigerator

My first issue of the new year. I have the refrigerator on the lowest setting it has, but it is still freezing my beer. Thoughts? I am not sure its turning off, meaning I think its constantly running.

My cockpit fridge will freeze beer in the spring when the temps are cold. I assume that if my cabin was cool/cold that it would do the same.

FIRST, I DO NOT WANT YOU TO FEEL BAD, BECAUSE I DID THE SAME THING WHEN MINE WAS NEW. I EVEN WENT AS FAR AS SENDING IT BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER, AND SWEARING UP AND DOWN, THAT I WAS FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS TO A TEE.
ISOTHERM SHOULD WRITE THEIR DIRECTIONS BETTER. THEY SAY TO INCREASE THE TEMP, WHICH MEANS MAKE THE REFRIG HOTTER, TURN ONE WAY. TO DECREASE THE TEMP, TURN THE OTHER WAY.
GET WHAT I'M SAYING? I ASSUMED THAT INCREASING THE TEMP, WOULD MAKE IT COLDER, BUT IN FACT, IT MAKES IT HOTTER. I READ THE DIRECTIONS ATLEAST 30 TIMES, TILL IT FINALLY SUNK IN.
SO, IF YOU TURN THE THERMOSTAT THE COMPLETE OTHER WAY, IT WILL INCREASE THE TEMP, WHICH IS WARMER.
LET ME KNOW HOW YOU MAKE OUT.
I NOW HAVE A MAGIC MARKER DRAWN ARROW ON THE INSIDE OF THE DIAL, SHOWING ME COLDER OR WARMER. WHY COULDN'T ISOTHERM DO IT?

Gary,

First thanks and I read those directions 50 times and we all debated this. Let me ask this so I make sure I am not confused anymore than I am. Are you saying the THICK part of the line is warmer, and the thinner part of the line (meaning turning it towards off) is the colder setting? If so, that is what my brother was trying to say. The directions are so cofusing. I have no numbers on my dial, just a line that goes thin to thick.

To ask another way, when you turn it from off, are you now at the coldest setting? And the more you turn it clockwise makes it warmer?

I AM NOT AT THE BOAT RIGHT NOW, SO I REALLY AM NOT SURE. I KNOW THAT PUTTING YOUR OWN MARKINGS ON THE REFRIG WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS.
TRY TURNING THE THERMOSTAT THE OPPOSITE WAY OF WHAT IT IS NOW.

I think I should meet you at the Jetty this weekend and help you investigate this problem, I think the two of us could drink that beer before it freezes. ;D Seriously, I had a similar problem this weekend my cockpit freezer froze solid and the fridge was not that cold. Hopefully we'll figure it out.

Off topic for a moment: I was at the Jetty on Saturday. Man the bay was flat. We need to meet up there this summer. Back on topic. I don't think I'm gonna make it back to boat until Thursday. Hopefully I will have no explosions.

Well, they say Reading is Fundamental, but for the life of me those directions for the Isotherm frig make no sense to me. So, I took Gary's advice and turned the knob on the frig the opposite way I had it on Wednesday. Went to the boat today and of course, nothing was frozen. So, I learned the wide part of the line on the knob is Hot and closest to the off position is cold. Go figure. Thanks Gary.

Pretty simple really. When you turn it until it clicks off, the lowest or warmest setting is closest to the off point.

Yup sure is. Problem is, at the end of the year, it would not click off and everything started to freeze again. Boat is up for the winter and I will tackle the problem in the spring. I would guess the thermostat is bad or ?
