Swim Platform Weight Restrictions

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know what the weight restrictions are on the 41 PC swim platform? I am looking at a new dinghy and it weighs 462 lbs., and the engine weighs 220 so, I am looking at almost 700 lbs. Also, has anyone ever seen, heard of, or have a Hurley Marine Dinghy Davit system. They are pretty cool "slide-up", "pull-up" system.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I like the Hurley Marine Dinghy Davit system.

That seems like a lot of weight for a dinghy. I guess think of it this way, can 3 225lb men/women stand on your swim platform with no issues? If yes, you're good.

I used to put the outboard motor in the forward berth at cruise to distribute weight better and keep it off the stern.

Don't know for sure but my guess is there would not be an issue with the weight. Could get the info from TAG (260) 724-1412,

The boat will handle different with that kind of weight on the platform, and something to watch for in rough seas

I have the hydraulic lift on mine. It was rated for 500#, so they anticipated at least that much.

With our swim platform located over the hull (not extended past the transom), I doubt even 800 or 900# would mean much when it comes to boat handling.

Thanks everyone. Is TAG responding AllDodge? The last few times I have communicated with them, they did not return calls or emails.

Don't know, last time I used them was years ago and they did. They do have the phone number but if not answering it may be a reduced manpower

Divergirl, the hoist is rated for 500#. How do you plan to secure your dinghy to the swim platform once hoisted aboard? I?m considering doing the same thing but undecided on how to secure the dinghy.
