Yep just take the cover with you and match it up
It is way cheaper and a lot less work then buying another strainer cover and taping it.

That will work on generator and the A / C
I also make one for the engine strainers
When you are at Home Depot get a pipe flange to mount pipe to the floor I think it was 4" or 5 " had to round out the holes a little to line up the screws but same thing reducer, hose connection and gasket.

I use them to run the motors and winterize works great.
