    Blue Top Optima Battery best??

Battery technology changes daily any more and it is really hard to keep up. I went with AGM's when they first came out and had great success. I believe I got 7 years out of all my batteries which was over double the life of regular lead acid. They can be mounted in any position, even upside...

    Considering a 2001 Formula 31 PC

Great boat, survey is a must, have outdrives inspected for galvanic corrosion. As previously stated, trailering over width requires special attention like permits, CDL license towing over 10k, etc. weigh the options and possibly find a nice slip instead of trailering. Good luck and let us know...

    UV Light

    Air Conditioning 2002 41PC

HPF is a head pressure error that is caused by lack of flow of water to the condenser. Basic stuff to check is the strainer and water intake to the thru hull. Has anything been done to the thru hull on the bottom of the boat? It seems like you are sucking air while out running. Some a/c...

    2000 31 PC

Here is a link to a great workbook about galvanic corrosion. I learned so much from this company and still reference their specs. Alldodge is correct, you will need a silver half cell connected to a multimeter to test for millivolts. You must also check that all underwater metals are bonded...

    2000 31 PC

Electrolysis is not something that is an issue with a model or year but a condition that is caused by dock power, electrical issues on the boat, nearby at another marina, etc. Mercruiser Bravo drives are very susceptible to electrolysis due to the poor aluminum choice from the manufacturer...

    Underwater Outboard?

I agree that the concept is great. Wonder what kind of warranty it has? Hopefully, 500 hours or 5 years would be great. I myself would have to wait until this takes off and is proven. I was one of the first Volvo Penta composite drive owners thinking that it was a great idea and all the...

    3/4 NPT Drain Plugs

I never had to clean any threads as I coat them in the spring with never seize copper. Both stay in all year and come out without issues.

    Structure under batteries

When you drill your holes, drill them slowly, looking at the shavings to see if they are wet. This is a good indication that the wood has water intrusion.

    Structure under batteries

I believe the cavity below the wood is foam filled. Not sure why your screw is not holding but the wood may be rotted.

Marine Seats/Sunpads (PA/MD) Harrisburg, Baltimore areas?

Have you checked for a skin from Formula? They may not have the correct colors but I am sure they can make you something close.

    Side Window Leaks

Are you latching all three latches? I have seen them leak with only the middle one used. Check the seal and lubricate with a light lubricant like Vaseline. If you put a dollar bill between the glass and the gasket and close and latch, the seal should be very tight and difficult to move the...
