1st Annual Middle Bay Rendezvous!!

Ever since the factory visit, Andrew (afratki) and I have talked about getting the crew together somewhere on the Bay. We've settled on Sillery Bay off of the Magothy, in a spot we call the horse farm because, well there's a horse farm. It's a huge anchorage that's protected from the weather, and easily reached unlike some of the crazy spots like Fairlee Creek. We're going to make it happen on September 15th.

We'll do a day raft up with no special plans for an overnight. You're welcome to stay, and there are plenty of marinas nearby if you would prefer to tie up for the evening.

The horse farm is located at [FONT=Roboto, Arial, sans-serif]39°05'24.4"N 76°26'02.6"W. We'll monitor the VHF and figure out how to guide everyone in, but it should be pretty easy.

Let's start by figuring out who can make it, and we'll get some additional details from there!

Hope to see lots of you there.
Todd

We're in! Funny, I never knew the actual name to the cove. We've always called it Eagle's Cove or Skier's Cove (before it was a no wake area). It's near Dobin's Island as I'm sure most people are familiar with that.

Yep... horse farm! Beautiful area to hang out. I'm working on some updates and will get another post up shortly. I got 2 more 45s to say they're in over the weekend! We're gonna have a heck of a raftup!

Twarble,
Met you last Wednesday in St Michaels.
Gary
Hey Gary! Great meeting you guys. Hope you had a great ride home and hopefully you're staying dry this week. Keep an eye out for us when you're in Annapolis! Sorry we'll miss you at the rendezvous.

Thanks, I let the MC (wife) know.
What does a 45' top out at? We usually cruise 40 MPH.
Won't take long to get there.

Well then I won't have to do 70 to keep up :):cool:
I ask because someday I wouldn't mind a bigger cruiser style, just wanted to know how quick they ran.
thanks

Sounds fun; we can exchange info when we get closer to the date. 40 is me trying to keep a reasonable MPG. I can hold 35 if I'm light on fuel and keep the tabs and drives mostly down, but any small chop throws it off plane. 40 holds quite well. (45 is more fun though, but won't someone please think of the gas prices)!

Always more fun to run in a pack.

Hey everyone...time for an update!

We've had a great response to this as I'm currently tracking 14 boats, and we're just getting started! I've created a flyer that you can pass around to anyone you think might be interested, and a map to explain where we're going. I spoke with Formula and they're contributing some goodies for prizes, and Seven Seas is going to get in on the action too! Details on that stuff to come. On to some of the logistics...

Getting/staying there...
For those of you that might want to use a boat ramp, you have 3 options: Ferry Point Marina, Magothy Marina, and Sandy Point State Park. Sandy Point is without a doubt the easiest to access, and most accommodating for the land vehicle/trailer and is about 15 minutes from the anchorage. Ferry Point will try to accommodate if they can, but they have limited parking. This would be best if you're planning to go to The Point for dinner. Magothy Marina is around the corner from Ferry Point as well.

I've spoken with both Ferry Point and Magothy Marina. I'm not planning to book everyone's overnight stay, so if you'd like to stay the night please contact them directly. Both have said they expect to have plenty of room, but we'll have to talk to them closer to the date to confirm everything.
Ferry Point 410-544-6368
Magothy Marina 410-647-2356

I think that's it for now...feel free to PM me if you have any other questions or suggestions. I'm starting to get very excited! Can't wait to see everyone.

posting the flyer, but i'm running into upload issues. i know everyone hates zip files, but the upload restrictions aren't leaving me many choices..unless someone has a trick they can share? pdf is 96KB, and we're only allowed 19KB. if you'd like me to email to you, just PM me...

Wow, 14 on your end already Todd. Not including people on this thread or myself, I know of 4 more, this is turning out to be quite a turn out (get it ). I wonder if you can add a poll to an existing thread to get a feel for who is doing what like, Raft up Only, Raft up and Anchor, Raft up and Dinner, Raft up and Overnight?

BTW, the flyer downloaded and unzipped fine for me.
